Our Three Day weekend - Chapter II

Today was a good day.

Temperatures are still hot around the ranch this weekend, so we rolled out early, I made a quick breakfast of hash brown potatoes and fried eggs to get us off to a quick start. Today the weather forecast was for T-storms and a little cooler that the last week. The horse trailer was still packed with our tack from yesterday's ride up the So. Fork Walla Walla.
Today we drove out from the house and turned up Cache Hollow Road and headed up Lincton Mtn. via Kennear Road. The mid-morning drive was very pleasant since the heat had not come on yet. Today we drove pass Big Saddle and motored on towards the Hwy. 204 rock quarry. From there we saddled up Derby and Nugget and headed into the mountain timber.

We didn't go but a couple of miles on Lincton Mtn. Road, and then turned off onto an old logging road the runs along the mountain above Upriver Dale and Cheri Cospers. Even though we didn't have any altitude change, it seemed that by leaving Lincton Mtn. Road, the breeze picked up and the air temperature was very pleasant. We rode round on this rim top of the So. Fork Walla Walla for maybe an hour just exploring and enjoying the off road experience.

Notice the sparkle in Derby's eye? He loved it out here.

Since a video is worth a thousand words, I will share some with you while I sit back and enjoy today's ride again...

Again today after getting back to the ranch, we showered Derby and Nugget off and sit under the maple trees in the front yard, had a beer, maybe two and relaxed with our pets grazing on the sweet green in the yard.

Thereafter Kittee took a short nap, I downloaded the camera, uploaded the videos I had made and then we both went out and worked in the yard and barn paddock until dinner. Turned out to be a busy day, in the middle of our three day weekend.

Today was a good day.
♫Oh give me a home here the deer and elk roam, and the skies are not cloudy all day♫

Peace be with you,

Dale
