Our Three Day weekend - Chapter I

Today was a good day.
Kittee finished her work week yesterday, and today we were free to ride.

Temperatures are still hot around the ranch this weekend, so we rolled out early, I made a quick breakfast of dirty rice and fried eggs, while Kittee loaded the horse trailer with odds and ends. Just before breakfast I went out to feed Rusty, Jasmine and check out the boys.

Right after breakfast we headed out and prepped Misty and Nugget for our ride up the So. Fork for the morning. It was rather pleasant but was warming up fast, so we moved right along. Got the horses loaded and headed for the trail head. When we got to the trail head there was no one else in sight. We quickly saddled up our steeds and headed up the trail. Not long after we hit the trail a couple of women on mountain bikes came up on us and remarked how pretty our rides were, even though Misty had some dirty rolling scuffs on her legs, but what the hey she gets a shower when we get back home from our summer rides.

Today was our first outing up the river trail this year, so we only went a few miles up and then let the horse enjoy their ride back to the trailer. They always enjoy heading for home. Since this was a very comfortable ride for all, I just sit back and made a few videos from the saddle on our ride out. Since a video is worth a thousand words, I will share some with you while I sit back and enjoy today's ride once again...

When we got back to the trailer the sun had come over the trees and was heating the trailer up, so we de-tacked our rides and headed 10 miles back down the road for the ranch.

After getting back to the ranch, we showered Misty and Nugget off and sit under the maple trees in the front yard, had a beer, maybe two and relaxed with our pets grazing on the sweet green in the yard.

Today was a good day.

Happy Trails,
Dale
